Nearly 3/4 of domestic violence victims work, and 74% of them report experiencing “spillover” such as harassment, assaults, and stalking in the workplace. While it is yet unclear what warning signs (if any) were present in this particular case, the fact remains that staff training is crucial to helping management, HR, and security personnel effectively recognize and respond to abused employees¬†before¬†tragedy occurs. Our hearts go out to the victim’s family and co-workers. If you or someone you know needs help, please call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE.
