On July 29th, nineteen-year-old Allen Ivanov attempted to reconcile with his ex-girlfriend, but she refused. The next day he opened fire at a Seattle house party, killing her and several other young people who just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. The most appalling part is that the shooter had been very clear about his plans in texts that he sent to several other people in the hours before the massacre, yet no one did anything to report or stop him.

Sadly, this case is not unique; new research links up to 57% of mass shootings with domestic violence. It’s time we all begin to take notice of this stark correlation and work together to find and implement life-saving solutions. Read the full article here.
